Council of Catholic Women

Council of Catholic Women

“The National Council of Catholic Women (“NCCW) acts through its membership to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.”

At St. Jude’s we are a member of the Chattanooga Deanery of the Council of Catholic Women. The Deanery is part of the Knoxville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and the Diocese is then part of the National Council of Catholic Women. We advocate individual membership in the National Council as they provide our support and education. The National Council of Catholic Women was established at the request of the United States Council of Catholic Bishops over ninety years ago. There are opportunities at every level to attend meetings and conventions to strengthen our faith and learn how to deal with issues of our time. Please visit National Council of Catholic Women website and the Knoxville Diocese Council of Women website for detailed information.

We place membership “forms” in the vestibule of the Church, but no registration is required. The forms are a way that we can obtain contact information and keep the parish women better informed of activities and events. Any event is open to any parish woman. Our Council strives to provide service, community, and support to all ministries at St. Jude.
